The man spied on the positions of the Ukrainian military.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained in Kiev an agent who simultaneously worked for the Russian and Belarusian special services. On the assignment of the Border Committee of Belarus, the man spied on the positions of the Ukrainian military, and for the Russian handlers corrected strikes on energy facilities in the capital region, the SBU reported.

The detainee is a local laborer who was recruited through Telegram channels for his pro-Kremlin comments.

The man was monitoring one of Kiev's thermal power plants right from the window of his own apartment, and also traveled to the facilities to assess their technical condition after past shelling. The Russians planned to use this information for new attacks to leave Kiev's residential buildings and social infrastructure without heating, the SBU said.

According to the report, the man hoped to be evacuated out of the country after completing his tasks. However, SBU officers detained him.

The man is now in custody and has been reported on suspicion of treason. For aiding the enemy under martial law, the detainee faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
