Genik Lojka has struck a masterpiece.

Belarusian sculptor and architect Genik Loika made a sculpture of Grand Duke Mindovg right out of a street subgrove on a Brooklyn, New York street. It turned out pretty cool, writes CityDog.

Genik Lojka is a sculptor and activist (in the democratic movement since the late 1970s), known as the author of the first full-figure monument to the national hero Tadeusz Kosciuszko in Belarus (in Kossovo). His works stand in front of the Belarusian embassies in Moldova (Francysk Skaryna).

After serving time on Okrestin during the 2020 protests, Genik left Belarus.

Loika was once the author of the "Legends z piasku" series of plein airs, when sand pits could be used to make sculptures of Belarusian heroes under his guidance.

By the way, Genik has already made a grand duke (though nameless) out of a snowdrift - in the yard of his apartment building in Minsk.
