Two Ways To "nail" Putin In 2026

A political scientist revealed the details.

Political analyst Vadim Denisenko explained to "Channel 24" that there are two factors that could force Putin to negotiate, but it is premature to make specific predictions about a ceasefire.

The first factor of influence is fear, but so far neither Trump nor Si Jinping are ready to unite for pressure, and Putin himself realizes that the United States cannot strike fatal blows against Russia quickly. The second is the lifting of sanctions and at least partly a return to big geopolitics.

"If Putin does not get what he wants, there is no point in him signing any agreement. So expecting a signing in the near future is as much a myth as the collapse of the Russian economy," Denisenko explained.

The situation may change in the spring due to Trump's planned visit to China in April, which could potentially affect Putin's willingness to negotiate.

"I have a hypothesis that Emmanuel Macron's visit to Moscow tentatively on February 7 - 8 may concern these very issues. We need to observe the development of events, and then we can say whether we will get a truce. It is too early to make predictions," Denysenko said.
