"Drones May Unexpectedly Fly Into Belarusian Refineries"

The actions of the Lukashists will not be without consequences.

Ukrainian political analyst Evgeny Magda said in a commentary to Belsat that Lukashenko is counting on Ukraine to refrain from retaliating to Shahed attacks through Belarus.

"Lukashenko, I think, was trying to get guarantees from the United States that Ukraine would not retaliate. But we live in a world where stray drones can suddenly fly to Minsk airport, oil refineries, and even suddenly find themselves at other strategic enterprises of Belarus," said the political analyst.

Magda emphasized that there is no demand for war with Ukraine in the Belarusian society.

"It should be understood that there is no desire to wage war with Ukraine in the Belarusian society. And Lukashenko risks ending up with a very small circle of personally loyal people, who will be ready to support his aggressive intentions in case of escalation," he said.

In his opinion, the vast majority of Belarusians do not want the war to affect the country's territory.

"I'm sure that the average Belarusian does not want neither war with Ukraine, nor to see drones or missiles flying over the territory of Belarus," Magda said.

The political analyst emphasized that the actions of the Belarusian authorities, in his assessment, can't remain without consequences.

"We should also understand that Lukashenko's actions can't go unpunished. I'm sure that the Ukrainian response will be, and it will be asymmetric," said the political analyst.

He added that despite the tension on the border, Ukraine is not interested in direct escalation.

"Although now the Belarusian-Ukrainian border resembles a front line, there are no hostilities there. Ukraine is not interested in giving a reason for war, but this does not mean that Lukashenko has no vulnerabilities," Magda said.

He predicts that the consequences of Minsk's current policy may manifest themselves in the near future.

"I think we will see them soon enough - perhaps as early as early 2026," he said.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky earlier accused the Belarusian authorities of assisting Russia in organizing drone attacks on Ukrainian territory.
