Europe is non-publicly hoping for a positive outcome of the meeting between Ukrainian and US Presidents Vladimir Zelensky and Donald Trump, which is expected to take place this Sunday. At the same time, they are preparing there for various, including unexpected scenarios, CNN reported, citing US and European officials.

European leaders will not participate in the meeting, which will be held in a bilateral format between Kiev and Washington. At the same time, CNN's interlocutors note that the Ukrainian side has been insisting for months precisely on high-level talks with the United States.

European capitals believe that the current dynamics of relations between Ukraine and the United States are generally productive, and this is what gives grounds for cautious optimism. However, they recognize that any meeting with Donald Trump carries an element of risk.
