Putin Unexpectedly Recognized Ukraine's Advantage

And he did it publicly.

Russia recognizes a lag in the field of heavy drones amid Ukraine's active use of such technology. In response to this gap, the Russian military is beginning to develop new platforms for cargo transportation and potentially for strike missions.

This is reported by Defense Express.

In a recent "direct line," Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Russian occupation forces are inferior to Ukraine in terms of the number of Baba Yaga-type drones.

He said the enemy has an advantage in this segment, which puts pressure on the Russian army and encourages the development of new technologies to fill the gap.

New developments in heavy drones

The Dronax company announced work on heavy transport drones capable of lifting loads weighing up to 100 kilograms.

Representatives of the company note that the new platforms will allow Russian forces to "cover new application scenarios with the transportation of especially large loads."

It is not yet known whether these drones will carry out strike missions, although heavy UAVs have previously combined transportation and combat functions.

Universal Capabilities

An example is the ChK-15SVO drone, which has a payload capacity of up to 100 kg and was recently tested. It is equipped with a system for dropping TM-62 cargo and anti-tank mines, which, according to the developers, is a qualitative leap compared to previous small cargo platforms.

Russia continues to develop a number of different heavy drone projects in an effort to narrow the technological gap with Ukraine.
