The Ukrainian president and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew have held a telephone conversation.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew held a telephone conversation. In particular, they discussed the barbaric shelling of Russians on Christmas.

This was reported by Charter97.org with reference to the Ukrainian head of state in Telegram.

Zelensky said that he thanked the Ecumenical Patriarch for sincerely congratulating Ukrainians on Christmas and supporting the defense of life and Ukrainian diplomatic efforts.

The president pointed out that even on Holy Night and Christmas night, the occupiers did not stop their strikes on Ukraine. Many towns and villages continue to have schedules of blackouts.

In particular, today, December 25, in the afternoon, the occupants continue to strike eastern cities of Ukraine. At the same time, Chernihiv continues to provide aid to those wounded in the Russian attack on a high-rise building.

"A very correct assessment of all this was voiced in our conversation: unfortunately, we are dealing with barbarians, who in the end do not believe in God. This is exactly what Russia has become and is not ashamed of it. On the contrary, they are trying to make their thirst for murder in Russia the basis of national pride," Zelensky said.

He assured that countering Russian war and aggression will continue, as well as protecting the lives of Ukrainians.
