Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has sent nuclear bombers for a show of force near the northern part of the UK, making a Christmas Day long-range flight over the Norwegian Sea. This was reported by Mirror.

Afterward, NATO was forced to put fighter jets in the air to escort the Russian planes. The Tu-95MS long-range bombers were escorted by Su-33 fighters, which journalists believe may have been a deliberate attempt to provoke the West near Santa Claus' flight path from the North Pole.

"Long-range Tu-95MS bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces made a planned flight in the airspace above the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian Seas. The duration of the flight was more than seven hours," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The ministry added that in some parts of the route the bombers were escorted by fighter jets of foreign countries, but did not specify which NATO forces intercepted the Tu-95MS planes.
