Plane Carrying Libya's Army Chief Of General Staff Crashes In Turkey

A private Falcon 50 business jet has crashed near Ankara, Sabah reports. The publication cites a statement by Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikay. He said Libya's Chief of General Staff General Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad was on board.
The private plane disappeared from radar shortly after leaving Turkey, NTV television channel reported. Four other people were flying with Libya's chief of general staff, Mr. Yerlikaya specified. According to him, at 20:52 local time, the plane was requested to make an emergency landing near the Hayman area, but after that communication with the jet could not be restored. The airspace over Ankara is now closed for flights.
Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad arrived in Ankara today at the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart Gen. Selcuk Bayraktaroglu.
