Ukrainian Defense Forces Block Russian Advance In The Center Of Pokrovsk

Ukrainian soldiers have repulsed 44 assaults since the beginning of the day.

Ukrainian defense forces continue to control the northern part of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Region. In the central part of the city, the Ukrainian military are blocking the advance of the Russians.

This was reported by Troops Group Vostok on its Facebook page on Tuesday, December 23.

The post says that the Defense Forces units in the area of responsibility of Troops Group Vostok are holding back the onslaught of the Russian army and have repulsed 44 assaults since the beginning of the day.

The military noted that in the Pokrovsk direction during the day the Russians tried 27 times to advance to the positions of the Ukrainian military near the settlements of Nikanorovka, Rodinskoye, Krasny Liman, Mirnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlino, Udachnoye, Molodetskoe, Novosergievka, Orekhovoye and Dachnoye.

UW Vostok reports that two skirmishes are still ongoing.

"Active actions of Ukrainian units in the area of Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration continue. The enemy is suffering significant losses," the report says.

The Ukrainian military continues to control the northern part of Pokrovsk, while in its central part they are blocking the advance of the Russian army.

In Mirnograd, the Ukrainian armed forces are holding defensive lines and eliminating the Russians on the approaches to the city, UW Vostok notes.

The military notes that logistics remain complicated. For example, the Defense Forces are taking measures to expand logistical corridors to Mirnograd to strengthen its supply capabilities.
