The Russian Foreign Ministry has begun evacuating the families of diplomats from Venezuela, the Associated Press agency reported, citing a European intelligence official.

The agency's interlocutor said the evacuation of women and children began on Friday, December 19.

The Russian Foreign Ministry's Telegram channel published a post on the evening of December 22 saying that AP's information about the embassy evacuation was untrue.

CNN reported that U.S. President Donald Trump is considering strikes against drug cartels in Venezuela, but as of mid-November, Trump had not yet decided whether to conduct a ground operation in Venezuela.
