AFU Officer: Kupyansk Will Be Completely Cleansed Of Russians

Kupyansk may be completely liberated from Russian troops in the near future. The commander of the 429th separate regiment of unmanned systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "Achilles" Yuriy Fedorenko stated this in a commentary "Espresso".

According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to successfully clear the right-bank part of the city from Russian infantry.

"At the moment, the enemy is blocked on the northern outskirts. He cannot penetrate the city and is unable to fully provide his units with logistics. All supply is carried out exclusively by air. Therefore, I am convinced that in the foreseeable future, with the support of the Ukrainian people, we will be able to accomplish the task of complete de-occupation of Kupyansk," Fedorenko said.

He also said that Russian troops are trying to use armored vehicles more actively, expecting to break through under the cover of adverse weather conditions, but without success. Such tactics are used not only in the area of Kupyansk, where the enemy is trying to break through, but also near Volchansk, where Russian activity also remains high.

"Their goal is to completely capture the city and advance further. We are not just talking about occupying a settlement, but an attempt to outflank it and create a buffer zone that will prevent the Defense Forces from re-occupying it in the future. This is exactly the scenario that was previously realized in the Kupyansk direction," Fedorenko explained.
