Reuters: Rubio To Join US-Russia Talks To End Ukraine War

U.S. negotiators plan to meet Russian representatives in Florida on Saturday for a final round of talks aimed at ending Russia's war against Ukraine.

The Reuters reports.

The meeting is to follow Friday's U.S. consultations with Ukrainian and European officials, during which an updated peace plan was discussed. Those talks raised cautious hope for possible progress in resolving the war, the agency said.

The Russian delegation will be led by an envoy of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Kirill Dmitriev. On the US side, diplomat Steve Whitkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will take part in the talks.

The US secretary of state and national security adviser Marco Rubio said he may also join the meeting.

The talks between the sides were previously held at the Whitkoff Golf Club in Miami and in the Gallendale Beach area.

Earlier this week, U.S., Ukrainian and European officials claimed some progress on security guarantees for Kiev. At the same time, it remains unclear whether Moscow will agree to the proposed terms.

A Russian source told Reuters that any direct contacts between the Russian delegation and Ukrainian negotiators during the meeting have been ruled out.
