NATO Responds To Putin's Words About Readiness To Go To War With Europe

Russia doesn't have enough soldiers to defeat Europe militarily.

The Russian army is now incapable of defeating Europe militarily, a senior NATO official told reporters on condition of anonymity at a briefing in Brussels. This was his response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's words about readiness to fight back if Europe "wants to fight and starts a war." His quotes are quoted by the BBC and Telegraf.ua.

According to the alliance representative, NATO is "more united than ever" in the issue of protecting its allies.

He recalled Article 5 of the NATO Charter on mutual defense. At the same time, according to a senior North Atlantic Alliance official, "Russia does not have enough troops or capabilities to actually win militarily."

The Russian leader said earlier that Russia is not going to go to war with Europe, but if the latter starts a war, Moscow is ready "right now". According to him, in such a case there could "quickly be a situation when we will have no one to negotiate with."
