It became known who Wang Yi met with.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is at the same time as U.S. Special Envoy Steven Whitkoff, who will meet with Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on Tuesday to discuss a peace agreement on Ukraine.

According to TASS, Wang Yi held consultations with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu on December 2. They discussed the interaction between Russia's and China's intelligence services, as well as "topical issues of international and regional security."

The talks with Wang Yi took place hours before a planned meeting between Putin and Whitkoff in the Kremlin, which, according to Reuters sources, will also be attended by Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

The talks will start after 5 p.m. (Minsk time) and will continue for as long as necessary, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Moscow appreciates the U.S. administration's peace efforts, but plans to "achieve the goals" of the "SWO" through peace talks, he emphasized: "We have to achieve our goals and we have to remove the original reasons for the military operation that we started."

Whitkoff, who is visiting Moscow for the sixth time since the beginning of the year, brought Putin an updated version of the peace plan he discussed with Ukrainian representatives in Florida over the weekend. According to ABC News sources, a key, territorial issue remained unagreed upon at the end of the talks, with the Kremlin demanding that Kiev surrender all territory in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions and rejecting any form of truce, while Ukraine insists on ending the war along the current front line.
