"Czech Initiative" to be.
The new Czech Defense Minister Jaromir Zuna said that the Czech Initiative program for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine, will continue to work in 2026.
It is reported Novinky.
He said that for the Czech army, the main issues remain air defense and the fulfillment of NATO commitments. Zuna also noted the continuation of the Czech Initiative for Ukraine.
"I don't deny that, but we need to talk about effective management," he said.
He said support for Ukraine "goes without saying".
"Russia is the aggressor, Ukraine was attacked, and it is up to us to continue to support it," he emphasized.
The Czech minister praised new Prime Minister Andrzej Babiš for agreeing on an exemption that will allow the country not to participate in the EU's €90 billion funding package for Ukraine.
"In the near future, I need to strengthen civil administration, defense planning and allied commitments. If necessary, we must reset defense and army priorities. The priority is air defense," Zuna noted.
