The strike was carried out using drones.

The Ukrainian military may have attacked a ship from Russia's shadow fleet that was sailing in the Mediterranean Sea. There are reports of casualties and, in particular, the possible elimination of Russian GRU Major General Andrey Averyanov, whom Alexander Nevzorov for some reason calls Russia's military intelligence chief, writes "Focus".

The strike was allegedly carried out by drones. Journalist Alexander Nevzorov writes about it, citing his own sources, who also publishes a video of the fire on the ship.

There was no official confirmation of the attack. Instead, the Direct channel publishes a screenshot from an unidentified Russian source, which claims an attack at around 00:26. The report also says that one of the "high-ranking employees of one of the special services" was killed.

According to Nevzorov, the uncrewed boats left the port of Greece, traveled 500 km underwater, and then launched drones.

The journalist claims that a tanker of the Russian shadow fleet was attacked. According to his information, two dead and seven wounded are known.

Nevzorov also reports the name of one of the eliminated - Major General Andrei Averyanov of the Russian GRU GSH, whom the journalist calls the head of Russia's military intelligence, although as of now the main intelligence directorate of the aggressor country is headed by Admiral Igor Kostyukov.

"Averyanov is responsible for shady deals, assassinations, bombings, espionage in EU countries, sabotage, etc. He is also behind the bombing of Prigozhin's plane, the poisoning of the Skripals. He conducted operations abroad on Putin's orders. He traveled around the EU on ships of the shadow fleet," Nevzorov writes.

The Ukrainian side has not yet made any comments on the possible attack on a Russian tanker in the Mediterranean Sea or on the elimination of the GRU general.

The Bulgarian edition of Important News also writes about the attack, though it is not known whether they refer to Nevzorov's information or to their own sources.
