Peskov made a cynical statement.
Moscow has cynically rejected the idea of a Christmas truce between Ukraine and Russia, which was proposed by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
As RBC-Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told Russian media.
According to him, further developments will depend on what US President Donald Trump says, whether Russia and Ukraine come to an agreement or not.
Peskov said that "Russia's position on this issue is well known, consistent, transparent and clear for both the Americans and the Ukrainian side."
"We want peace, we don't want a ceasefire to give Ukraine a break and prepare for the continuation of the war," a spokesman for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said cynically.
Peskov added that the Kremlin allegedly seeks to "achieve its goals and stop the war," without specifying that it was Russia that unleashed hostilities against Ukraine.
