After the release of the new instruction from the EU.
Employees of the Russian diplomatic mission have allegedly "stopped giving their hands in meetings," Zerkalo reported, citing RIA Novosti. According to the Russian state-run publication, this happened after the release of a new instruction from the European External Relations Service (ECBC).
According to RIA "Novosti," the document went to the European Union's post mission to the UN in Geneva, which then distributed it to other missions.
It allegedly contains instructions "on how to communicate with Russian diplomats."
"Among other things, it recommends 'avoiding events where Russian diplomats participate' and if you find yourself at such an event - 'do not get caught on camera together with Russian diplomats,'" RIA Novosti wrote.
The state-run newspaper's source said that Russian diplomats have already felt the impact of these measures - "they stopped giving hands at meetings and were even asked to leave an event organized by one of the diplomatic missions."
