Von Der Leyen Announces New EU Sanctions Against Lukashenko's Regime

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the European Union is preparing new sanctions against the Belarusian regime in response to the hybrid attacks on the border with Lithuania. She wrote about it in social network X after a telephone conversation with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda.

According to Ursula von der Leyen, the situation is getting worse the further it goes: balloons with contraband launched from the territory of Belarus fly into the airspace of Lithuania more and more often.

She called it an unacceptable hybrid attack by the Lukashenko regime and said that the EU fully supports Lithuania and is preparing new measures within the sanctions policy.
