The star shared her emotions from what she saw in Kherson and Nikolaev.
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, who recently visited Ukraine, has reached out for the first time since her visit.
The actress has published a new post on her Instagram, where she has an audience of nearly 16 million. Angelina wrote emotionally about what she saw and experienced in Ukrainian cities.
"Visited Mykolaiv and Kherson in Ukraine this week to meet with families who live on the front lines. The drone threat was constant, hard to be there. You can hear the buzzing in the sky. They already call it a "human safari" here - drones are used to follow, harass and terrorize locals non-stop. There was a moment when we had to stop and wait out the drone flying overhead. I was in protective gear, and it only lasted a few days for me. And families here live with it every day. They've moved schools, clinics, and daycare centers into basements, and are determined to continue living no matter what. It's been hard to see, but at the same time it's incredibly inspiring. Many people spoke to me about the psychological strain of constant danger - and the even deeper fear of being forgotten by the world," Angelina wrote and showed some photos from Ukraine.
The star also added that she doesn't understand why many people around the world are unfairly maligned. So she called on governments to find the power and help change that.
"It's hard to understand how in a world with such powerful diplomacy, civilians in Ukraine, Sudan, The Hague, Yemen and so many other places suffer daily as if those in power can do nothing to end these conflicts and protect all civilians equally. I am inspired by the incredible courage, dedication and professionalism of local organizations and volunteers. If they can find their strength, governments should do the same," said the actress.
