Kiev is working with partners, particularly the United States, to procure additional air defense systems.

On Saturday, November 8, Ukrainian cities, energy infrastructure and civilians came under Russian attack. Ukraine is working with partners, particularly the United States, to purchase additional air defense systems. This was announced by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in video message.

"There was a massive strike, a lot of ballistics - there were at least 25 ballistic missiles, there were also aeroballistic and cruise missiles, more than 450 drones of various types. Very brazen, in many respects the strike was demonstrative," the Ukrainian leader said.

Zelensky emphasized that the level of international pressure on Russia remains insufficient, and any easing of sanctions only encourages the aggressor to launch new attacks.

"The weakness of the response to Russian brazenness gives Russia a motive to continue the war. It takes so many sanctions, so much pressure, so much life support for Russia to have no livelihood left in war," he emphasized.

The main targets of the strike were Ukrainian cities, energy infrastructure and civilians. In Dnipro, a drone hit an apartment building, killing at least three people there. There is also a casualty in Kharkiv. Zelensky expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

"All services are involved. Since the night I have been in touch with all responsible officials, and they must restore electricity supplies, water supplies, heat supplies in those cities where there was damage as quickly as possible," the Ukrainian president said.

He said that overnight the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down more than 400 drones and part of the missiles. Zelensky also emphasized the effectiveness of REB systems.

"Some of the missiles were also shot down, and it is very difficult, of course, to counter ballistic and aeroballistic missiles. Only a few systems in the world can shoot down such missiles, effectively shoot them down, and to cover our entire territory, we need much more systems, much more missiles to these systems. We are working with our partners, with America, to buy additional petriots, we are very much counting on support. I thank every leader, I thank every friend of ours in Europe, in America, in Asia, who is helping us, who is trying to help. There will be solutions," he added.
