Is the end of the war near?
US President Donald Trump has reiterated significant progress in ending the war in Ukraine
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the White House broadcast.
While speaking to the press, Trump noted that three months ago his administration brokered a peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He emphasized that it was one of eight wars the United States has ended in eight months.
Now the United States is seeking to end the war in Ukraine, and there is progress.
"We are seeking to end another (war - ed), if possible, between Russia and Ukraine. We haven't succeeded so far, but I think we've made a lot of progress," the US president said.
Yesterday, Trump's special envoy Steve Whitkoff said there has been some progress in resolving the war in Ukraine, adding that this conflict "needs to be resolved next" after Gaza.
Trump himself recently revealed that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin had asked for his help with ending the war in Ukraine a couple weeks ago. In particular, the dictator allegedly said that he has been trying to end the war for 10 years, but he has not succeeded.
It is also worth noting that Trump recently said that the war in Ukraine could be ended in a short period of time. When asked about "a couple of months," he answered in the affirmative.
Additionally, the current US president has repeatedly said, the war between Russia and Ukraine will be the ninth one he will be able to settle.
