Azerbaijan Transitions To NATO Standards

Turkey will help Baku in this matter.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a NATO delegation on November 6 and said the country's army is being brought in line with the alliance's standards, the politician's press service reported.

Aliyev said Azerbaijan's cooperation with NATO in regional development, energy security and other areas is on the agenda.

"The head of state emphasized that the Azerbaijani army is being brought in line with NATO standards and in this context closely cooperates with the Turkish army. In this regard, he touched upon the role of expansion of relations between our country and the Alliance," the press service reported.

The meeting discussed "prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO, exchanged views on regional and global issues".

At the moment, NATO in Baku is holding a course on "Combat Readiness Evaluation of Headquarters, Units and Subunits of the Ground Forces (CREVAL)".
