Lithuania Intends To Create A Tool To Shoot Down Meteoprobes From Belarus

Lithuania's "best scientists and entrepreneurs" are working on the tool.
Lithuania wants to create a "creation of the best scientists and entrepreneurs" within a few months in order to shoot down the meteoprobes appearing over the country, which Vilnius connects with Belarusian smuggling. The announcement was made by Economy and Innovation Minister Edvinas Grikshas.
Lithuanian authorities promise that something will be a "joint creation of the best scientists and entrepreneurs."
The Innovation Agency, which oversees the one million euro initiative, says three of the best "tools" will be selected.
Before that, Antanas Montvydas, deputy head of the state border protection service at the Interior Ministry of the Baltic republic, said that hundreds of meteoprobes with smuggled tobacco had been discovered in Lithuania in 2025.
