Russian troops managed to dislodge from the northern part of Kupyansk, but the situation in the city remains difficult.

The head of the communication department of the United Forces Group Viktor Tregubov said this on air during a telethon, Censor.NET.

"At the moment there was a series of counterattacks in the northern part of the city, the Russians managed to dislodge, but the situation is unstable. There is fighting going on in the city, which is dynamically changing. Although we managed to push back the Russians, but it is still not easy in the city," he said.

Russian tactics in the Kupyansk direction

Tregubov said Russian troops are trying to gain a foothold in buildings in order to accumulate manpower there and advance further. "In general, this tactic is used along the entire line of demarcation. Find a place that is relatively protected from drone strikes, accumulate a certain amount of manpower there and advance further," he said.

Situation in Volchansk

With regard to the situation in Volchansk, Tregubov said that the city is almost completely destroyed and the Russians are trying to force Ukrainian troops out of its southern part. "In terms of control there, the situation is unpleasant for us," the officer added.

He also noted that the enemy almost does not use heavy equipment in the Kharkiv direction, as it is immediately hit by Ukrainian drones.
