Media: Ukraine Hits One Of Russia's Largest Thermal Power Plants

Ukrainian drones attacked "energy infrastructure facilities" in Volgorechensk in Russia's Kostroma region on the night of November 6, the region's governor Sergei Sitnikov said.
According to Astra, the target of the Ukrainian drone attack was the Kostromskaya GRES, Russia's third-largest thermal power plant by installed capacity. It generates about 1.5% of the total electricity produced in the country, according to Inter RAO data. The plant has eight 330 and 300 MW power units and a unique 1,200 MW "million-strong" power unit. Residents of Volgorechensk reported a fiery blaze that engulfed the plant after the strikes.
