One third of the companies are not yet under sanctions.

Experts of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR have released a three-dimensional scheme of the Russian Orion UAV, as well as disclosed information about 43 enterprises involved in its production.

It was reported in Telegram by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR.

The Orion is a strike and reconnaissance drone produced by the under-sanctioned Russian group of companies Kronstadt.

What is known about the drone

The drone weighs about one ton with a straight wing and V-shaped tail is capable of carrying up to 250 kg of payload, which may include systems for aerial photography, radio-technical reconnaissance modules, optoelectronic systems, KAB-20 guided bombs, Kh-50 missiles and the like.

In addition, the Orion is the carrier of the new Russian cruise missile S8000 "Banderol", the components of which the Main Directorate of Intelligence published earlier.

The range of the Orion - up to 250 km (with a repeater - up to 300 km), the duration of flight - up to 30 hours. For such tactical and technical characteristics and competitive price, Russian media loudly nicknamed it "the killer of "Bayraktar".

Who produces components for the "Orion"

Three companies are not yet under sanctions by any of the countries of the sanctions coalition, which creates a real opportunity to continue supplying critical components and continue the war against Ukraine.

The identified companies include manufacturers of optoelectronic systems, ground-based communication stations and polymer-composite materials for airframes.

"Developments like Orion pose a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to the civilized world as a whole: technologies and components can be transferred to Russia's allies, in particular Iran and the DPRK, which expands the risks of their military use in other regions," the GSU said.
