Turkey Conducts Historic Test Of Unmanned Fighter Jet

This test is being called the beginning of a new era in aviation.

Turkey's first unmanned fighter jet, the Bayraktar KIZILELMA, became the first platform in the world to hit a jet air target with an air-to-air missile in a test off the coast of Sinop.

As TRT Haber reports, citing a statement from Baykar, the project was developed solely with national resources. The test made history as the first successful use of an unmanned fighter jet against an aerial target.

The majority of drones in the world are designed for air-to-ground missions. However, KIZILELMA was the first platform to prove its ability to conduct aerial combat. This result is called the beginning of a new era in aviation.
