Media: Lukashenko Secretly Supplies Arms To The Houthis In Yemen

A secret Iranian-Belarusian network has been uncovered.

A secret arms trafficking network involving Iranian and Belarusian operatives has been uncovered and is supporting the Houthi rebel movement in Yemen, writes yemenonline.info.

Arabist and Middle East expert Dina Lisnyanskaya reports that Iran has stepped up arms shipments to the Houthis, using aircraft from the Belarusian transportation company Rada Airlines. It delivered cargo from Tehran to unspecified locations in the Red Sea region (Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan). From there, small vessels transported some of the cargo to Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.

According to yemenonline.info, the network was engaged in covert transfers of weapons and military technology to areas in violation of international arms embargoes.

The operation allegedly relied on a combination of forged transportation documents, dual-use shipments and indirect routes through third countries to conceal the origin and ultimate destination of the shipments.

Belarusian entities are believed to have provided logistical support and component supply, while Iranian operatives coordinated transshipment via sea and land routes from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea.

Security experts warn that Belarus' involvement adds a new dimension to the geopolitical dynamics of the conflict in Yemen, potentially expanding the scope of international responsibility.

The alleged link to Belarus marks a rare case of Eastern European involvement in the military logistics of the conflict.
