The Russian attacked the official during a private conversation.

Russian law enforcers have detained a 46-year-old man who attacked the mayor of Yeniseisk in the administration building. A criminal case was opened against him under part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a representative of authority), the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Krasnoyarsk Krai and Khakassia reports.

According to the agency, the incident took place on November 28. The man came to see the mayor and during the conversation began to express dissatisfaction with the work of the authorities, after which he attacked the mayor and caused him bodily harm.

The suspect is detained, the issue of selecting a measure of restraint is being considered. Investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
