Russians Shot A Captured AFU Soldier On The Pokrovsky Direction

The occupiers committed another war crime.

Russian invaders have executed an AFU serviceman who was taken prisoner in the Pokrovskoye direction. The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the crime.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reports that.

The incident occurred in November 2025.

The agency said that during the storming of positions near the village of Gnatovka in Pokrovsky district, the Russians surrounded and captured an AFU serviceman.

"One of the occupants tied his hands, and another inflicted several blows with the butt of an automatic rifle on his head. When the unarmed defender stopped reacting, he was shot," the report said.

The prosecutor's office noted that the deliberate killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a grave international crime.

The prosecutors have started pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the fact of committing a war crime that resulted in the death of a person (part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The urgent investigative (search) actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the specific perpetrators of the crime are underway.
