Belarus has detained the son of Russian tax official Anton Gusev, suspected of committing a fatal traffic accident in Voronezh. Now the issue of his extradition to Russia is being decided, writes RTVi.
Andrey Alshevskikh, a deputy of the Russian State Duma, said that he learned about the detention of the Russian in Belarus in response to an official request to the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin.
Information about Gusev's detention was confirmed to the REN TV channel by his mother, a high-ranking employee of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of the Russian Federation. According to voronezh1.ru, the man had been hiding from law enforcers for almost three months.
According to the media, on September 3, 2025 in Voronezh, a drunken Alexander Gusev, without a driver's license, got behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf after visiting a bar with his ex-girlfriend, 22-year-old Valeria Sultanova. He failed to control his car and crashed into a parked truck. Sultanova died on the spot, Gusev was hospitalized. Four days later, he escaped from the hospital, after which he was put on the wanted list.
