Will usurper take over Venezuela's dictator after overthrow?

Alexander Lukashenko expects the visit of Venezuela's dictator to Belarus. He said this at a meeting with Venezuelan Ambassador to Russia Rafael Salazar Velasquez.

"Mr. Ambassador, Venezuela is not a foreign country for Belarus. We have been cooperating with you for a long, long time. I would like our relations to be more intensive and advanced. We have a lot to talk about. I would like you to tell my friend Nicolas Maduro that we are always waiting for him in Belarus. It is time for him to visit Belarus. I am convinced that he has the same attitude towards me. I will do my best to find time to visit Venezuela. Times are problematic, complicated, difficult, but, nevertheless, one can find a way out of any situation. You just have to strive for it. You understand it as well as I do," said Lukashenko.

The clouds have been gathering over Nicolas Maduro lately. The US has built up a force off the coast of Venezuela to fight drug cartels. According to Washington, a large amount of drugs to the United States come from Venezuela.

Also Donald Trump has approved the preparation of secret CIA actions inside Venezuela that could lead to a large-scale military campaign.

The CIA has been authorized to conduct operations that include sabotage, cyber and psychological influence in order to "prepare the battlefield." In parallel, the military is working on options for precision strikes against drug trafficking targets and Maduro's security detail. Among the working scenarios is the seizure of Venezuela's oil fields, as well as the capture or elimination of Maduro.

At the same time, Trump has simultaneously initiated closed-door talks with Maduro. According to the newspaper's interlocutors, the Venezuelan leader said he was ready to step down after a two- to three-year transition period. The White House refused to consider such a postponement, but a diplomatic way out of the situation is not completely ruled out.
