Alexander Milinkevich Was In Intensive Care

The condition of the ex-presidential candidate is very serious.

Former presidential candidate in Belarus Alexander Milinkevich has ended up in intensive care. After the removal of a blood clot during the operation, the wife of the famous politician and public figure Alexander Milinkevich Inna Kuley writes in Facebook.

"Alexander is in intensive care, the condition is very serious. The stenting operation was on the carotid artery, where 80% of the lumen was closed by a thrombus. When it was removed, it was like a floodgate opened - the blood flow is very tense, the pressure is very high," wrote Inna Kuley.

"I infinitely believe that with God's help his body should cope. I believe and pray," she wrote.

Alexander Milinkevich is now 78 years old. He himself is from Hrodna. In 1990-1996, he was deputy chairman of the Hrodna City Executive Committee, at that time he greatly contributed to the Belarusianization in the city. In 2006 he was a candidate from the democratic opposition with the status of "united" in the presidential election. After that he created the public movement "For Freedom" and was its head until 2016. In recent years he has been a freelance adviser to Svetlana Tihanouskaya, one of the organizers of the "Free Belarusian University".
