Mertz Has Prepared His Own "peace Plan"

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has developed his own separate plan to end the war in Ukraine - as an alternative to Donald Trump's 28-point peace plan.

As n-tv.de writes, Merz announced that he will present his own proposal to Ukrainian negotiators in Geneva to negotiate a peace settlement.

"I have made an additional proposal that goes beyond the comprehensive 28-point plan," Merz said, emphasizing that it is important to build on the U.S. plan to develop a "document that can gain the approval" of Ukraine.

He did not provide any additional details, but said he was making the proposal "to at least take the first step on Thursday."

He also believes that reaching an agreement before Thursday is not completely ruled out, but is doubtful.

"I am skeptical whether such a solution is possible given the current disagreements," he said.
