"Neptune Strike" is practicing a response to possible Russian Federation aggression.
NATO has begun naval exercises "Neptune Strike" (Neptune Strike) in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Italy.
It is reported by CBS News.
It is known that they involve the British aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales with 26 American F-35 fighter jets on board.
According to the channel, ten countries, including the United States, Britain, Poland and Turkey, are taking part in the exercise. Servicemen are practicing actions in strikes against NATO's eastern flank, as well as the defense of critical sea lanes through which 30% of the world's oil supply passes.
The supreme commander of NATO's joint forces in Europe, Alexus Hrynkiewicz, said the alliance must be prepared for potential conflicts with Russia and China before 2027.
Hrynkiewicz said the exercises are taking place amid incidents of violations of NATO airspace.
