Romania put fighter jets in the air on the night of November 22 in connection with Russian Federation air strikes in the south of Odessa region near the state border, and an air alert was declared for villages above the Danube.

On Saturday morning, Romania's Defense Ministry said two F-16 fighter jets were taking to the air on the night of Nov. 21-22 to monitor the airspace near the border with Ukraine in connection with another Russian air attack.
An air alert was declared at 01:33 for villages in the north of the Tulcea region after the identification of Russian attack UAVs near Ukraine's Izmail.
The agency said no violations of Romania's airspace were recorded. The fighters returned to the base in Borcea at 03:42.
"We are constantly in touch with allies, exchange operational information in real time and act decisively to ensure the security of Romania and the eastern flank of NATO," the report added.
According to reports, as a result of Russian shelling, the Orlovka checkpoint on the border between Ukraine and Romania was damaged, its work was suspended until the elimination of the consequences.
