This is due to the US and UK sanctions against Russia.
Lithuania stopped transit of cargoes of LUKOIL (MOEX: LKOH) and its subsidiaries to Kaliningrad from November 21. This is due to the US and UK sanctions against Russia. This was reported by the press service of Lithuanian Railways.
"Compliance with the recommended US and UK sanctions is a consistent step that contributes to the control and sustainability of business risks," said the head of the railway company Egidijus Lazauskas. Lithuania stopped accepting applications for cargo transit on October 31, the statement said.
The U.S. and Britain imposed sanctions on LUKOIL in October. On Nov. 14, the company said it was in talks to sell foreign assets with several potential buyers.
