Released Catholic Priests Were Taken Out Of Belarus

Catholic priests Henrych Okolotovich and Andrzej Juchniewicz, released from Lukashenko's prisons on November 21, were immediately taken abroad and are now in the Vatican, writes katolik.life.

They are expected to meet with them - official reports should appear soon. When the priests will be able to return to Belarus and what awaits them next - the believers are still unknown.

Andrzej Juchniewicz is the rector of the Roman Catholic parish in Shumilino, the sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima.

The priest was detained on May 8, 2024. On April 30, 2025, he was sentenced in Shumilino. The believers learned that the priest was sentenced to 13 years in prison, while the prosecution insisted on a term of 15 years. The trial was conducted by the chairwoman of the Shumilino district court Inna Grabovskaya.

Henrych Okolotovich is a priest from Volozhin. The man was detained in November 2023. On December 30, 2024, his sentence was announced to him: 11 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony for "treason against the state". It is known that Henryk Okolotovich did not plead guilty.
