Czech Republic Plans Record Army Recruitment In 2026

The Czech Republic wants to recruit 2,250 soldiers next year, which would be one of the highest numbers in its history.
This is according to Radio Prague International.
It is noted that the Czech army plans to recruit 2,250 soldiers in 2026. The highest number of recruits was recorded in 2006, when 2,262 joined the army.
The target for this year was 2,100 new soldiers, but the figure is likely to eventually exceed 2,300.
"The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense has approved the recruitment plan for 2026. The plan sets the number of recruits at 2,250," Magdalena Hinčíková from the Czech Defense Ministry's press office.
She noted that the target of 2,100 new soldiers was already reached at the end of August.
It is noted that at the beginning of this year the army had 28,285 soldiers, including members of the military police, military intelligence and students from the Defense University in Brno.
