Venezuela's dictator is stalling.
Venezuela's dictator Nicolas Maduro during informal talks offered the US to resign within two to three years. This is reported by The New York Times with reference to sources.
It is noted that in Washington rejected his proposal and demanded immediate resignation.
In addition, the sources of the publication reported that U.S. President Donald Trump approved the plans of the CIA to conduct covert operations in Venezuela, which could be a preparation for U.S. military action. It is noted that it is still unclear what exactly the covert operations are and when they might be implemented.
On November 14, the Pentagon announced the launch of Operation Southern Spear in the Western Hemisphere, and President Trump said he had "sort of made a decision" on further steps to Venezuela - but did not reveal what kind.
