Russia Hit A Residential High-rise In Kharkiv

On the night of November 19, the Russian army massively attacked Kharkiv with drones. Slobodsky, Osnovyansky and Nemyshlansky districts of the city came under attack, the head of the military administration of Kharkiv region Oleg Sinegubov reported. In Slobodsky district, a drone hit a nine-story apartment building, causing a fire to break out. Forty-eight people, including three children, were urgently evacuated from the building. In addition, the roof of a nearby business center and garages caught fire. A medical facility, a supermarket and at least 10 civilian cars were also damaged.

A total of 32 people were injured, including children aged 9 and 13, as well as an 18-year-old girl. Six people were hospitalized. "All relevant services are working at the scene. Elimination of the consequences continues," noted Sinegubov. According to his data, a total of 19 attack drones of the Geran-2 type were involved in the night attack on Kharkiv.

The day before, on November 18, the Russian army launched a missile strike on the town of Berestin in the Kharkiv region. As a result, a 17-year-old girl was killed and 9 other people were injured. A day before that, Russia hit another city in the region, Balakleya, with ballistic missiles. Residential neighborhoods were hit. Three people died and ten more, including three children, were injured, the head of the local military administration, Vitaly Karabanov, reported.

Before that, the Russian army launched one of the deadliest strikes in the current fall on Kiev. On Nov. 14, a drone and ballistic missile attack killed seven people in the Ukrainian capital and six in the Kiev region. More than 30 civilians were injured, most of whom required hospitalization. The massive shelling damaged 30 apartment buildings in nine districts of Kiev.

"This was a deliberately calculated attack to cause maximum damage to people and civilian infrastructure. The world must stop these strikes with new sanctions," Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky commented on the strike on Kiev.
