Spain To Transfer Scarce Missiles For IRIS-T Air Defense Systems To Ukraine

Spain is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine.

Spain will provide Ukraine with missiles for IRIS-T batteries as part of a new military aid package. Such armament is now in short supply.

As RBC-Ukraine reports, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said at a press conference with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

The Ukrainian head of state stressed that Ukraine and Spain are ready for joint production of high-precision weapons.

Also, as Zelensky noted, he is grateful to Spain for the new defense aid package.

- This includes missiles for air defense. This is a big deficit for us. During the winter, a big deficit. In this case, a specific package, 40 missiles for IRIS-T air defense systems," the president said.

He said that in total, Ukraine will receive 300 million euros worth of weapons as part of the new package. This is a substantial assistance.
