Spain will soon allocate one billion euros for the purchase of military equipment from the United States for transfer to Ukraine.

This was announced by Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares, reports El Pais.

It is noted that this aid package will be in addition to the aid package for Ukrainian energy infrastructure. It was also reported that the new aid package should provide Ukraine with an air defense boost.

Congress Speaker Francina Armengol and Senate President Pedro Rollan received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Hall of Lost Stairs of the Congress of Deputies in Madrid.

In his third visit to Spain, the Ukrainian president is also scheduled to meet with King Felipe VI and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
