"Belarusian Academics Are Just Eyeglasses."

What's wrong with science in our country.
BEROC academic director Lev Lvovsky criticized the Academy of Sciences in the program "Clock Ticking". His words are quoted by "Salidarnasts":
- Some people have declared themselves academicians. Let me remind you that the average age of academicians is quite high. That is, many of them started their careers back in the Soviet Union.
If physics, engineering, and mathematics in the Soviet Union were the same as they are now, how can we consider a person to be a doctor of historical sciences if he got his doctorate in the Soviet Union? History was different there, it has been rewritten since then.
How can a person who got his PhD in economics in 1988 now be considered a PhD in economics if they rewrote Marx?"
That is, in terms of subjects, these academicians are just eyewash who don't even know the undergraduate program now.
And this gives rise to this system, when in fact there is no academic ethics, when someone is an academician because he is an academician of the Soviet Union.
Everybody knows that a man is out of his mind and never originally knew economics or never originally knew history. He just read 154 volumes of Marx and learned 10 of them. And so he is a very respected man.
And everybody knows that this is what eyewash is. To defend yourself against this man, you have to butter him up well. <...> What articles who wrote - it does not matter. The main thing is formal articles. That's why a system of formal journals was created, where nobody checks what was printed there. Everybody got used to it, and everybody starts covering each other.
An example Lvovsky cites Kiril Rudog, ex-assistant to Lukashenko.
- A relatively young man by academic standards, a doctor of sciences in Belarus. In his works, I apologize for the terms, R² is equal to one. This means that he does not understand statistics at the level of the first year and is a doctor of sciences in Belarus. How he passed all these tests, we don't know. How he graduated from university is a good question. And most importantly, who revoked his diploma? No one. <...>
That is, there is no quality control system at all. <...> In Belarus, the masses came to it. And that's why forgery is normal there, and all sorts of borrowing is normal. And when someone writes a dissertation for someone else, it is also normal. Nobody checks anybody, nobody wants to check.
<...> And when somebody really wants to study something, and he or she meets on the way with all these grandfathers who don't let you do normal science. Because if you do normal science, you will definitely at some point bring all these people with false degrees to light or shame them in some way. <...>
They would rather, God willing, if they just help you to leave Belarus, and then you will really become a scientist abroad. That's the best option. And many they will just fester.
