Passing the Polish-Belarusian border will now be easier.

Two checkpoints are being opened between the countries after several years of downtime.

The crossings "Bobrovniki" (from the Belarusian side - "Berestovitsa") and "Kuznitsa" ("Bruzgi").

It is expected that only passenger cars will be able to cross the border in "Bruzgi. "Berastovitsa" will be available for all types of transport, including buses and heavy trucks.

The two checkpoints will start operating at exactly midnight Polish time.

Belarus at that moment will be already 02:00 on November 17.

What is happening at the border now?

In the evening of November 16, as promised by the Belarusian side, registration in the electronic queue system began.

The waiting area is also open.

According to the correspondent of Tochka.by, who works at the checkpoint "Berastovitsa," the first buses and cars have already arrived here in advance and are waiting for the hour of X.

In the meantime, Belarusian specialists are ready to start letting individuals and vehicles through, said the State Border Committee.

Closing the border with Poland

For more than two and a half years, only the checkpoints "Terespol" ("Brest") for cars and "Kukuryki" ("Kozlovichi") - for trucks - remained operational.

The Bobrowniki border crossing was closed by the Polish authorities on February 10, 2023, and the Kuznica border crossing had not functioned for more than four years.

Previously, about 2 million travelers and more than 4 million vehicles passed through these checkpoints annually.
