Trump Made A Major Announcement On Nuclear Testing

The U.S. is number one in the world.

US President Donald Trump has said that the United States will test nuclear weapons "pretty soon". At the same time, Washington is in favor of denuclearization.

This is reported in a White House broadcast.

In an interaction with the press, Trump was asked if he had any appointment about concerns about nuclear tests. In response, the US leader said the following:

"We're going to have nuclear tests because other countries are conducting. There are countries that are conducting. We have more nuclear weapons than any other country. I'm the one who modernized it and built some of it, and I hated to do it, but there was no choice because other people have them," Trump said.

He also reiterated that the U.S. is the leader in nuclear weapons, with Russia in second place and China a distant third. But he emphasized that Beijing will equal Washington in four to five years. According to Trump, he would like to denuclearize.

"I would like to denuclearize. That is to have a meeting, first of all of the three leaders, to reduce nuclear weapons. That would be a wonderful thing," the White House chief added.

When asked how soon the tests could take place, the US president replied, "Pretty soon."

"We are number one. Russia is number two. China is number three. They're catching up. They're way behind us so far, but they'll catch up in four or five years. I think the best thing would be to denuclearize," Trump summarized.

Also, a number of media outlets report that Trump was asked during the conversation whether a nuclear warhead detonation would be carried out during the test, to which he did not give an answer.
