Heads Of The World's Largest Countries Refused To Go To The G20

Xi Jinping followed Trump in declining to attend the summit in South Africa.

Chinese President Si Jinping will not participate in the G20 summit to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on November 22. This is reported by Bloomberg.

U.S. President Donald Trump earlier admitted that he will refuse to travel to the G20 summit because he has "a lot of problems" with South Africa.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that Beijing will be represented at the G20 by Prime Minister Li Qiang. The statement did not explain why Xi Jinping will not attend this year's meeting.

The Chinese leader's decision means that the summit, created to tackle global economic issues at the top level, will not feature the leaders of the world's two largest economies (the US and China), the agency said.

There will also be no Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - South Africa is a party to the International Criminal Court, which issued an arrest warrant for Putin for kidnapping children in Ukraine during a full-scale invasion.
