Poland's foreign minister explained Warsaw's motivation for increasing defense spending.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that if Russia were able to take over Ukraine, other neighboring countries, particularly Poland, would be next.
Sikorski said this on the The Rest Is Politics: Leading podcast.
"People understand why this is necessary and they accept it without resistance," the minister said.
He said the situation is so serious that even colleagues from European ministries are surprised at the possibility of such spending, to which the Polish finance minister replied: "If I didn't do it, I would be torn to pieces."
"We would rather eat grass than become a Russian colony again," Sikorski emphasized.
